Ghost town: Footage reveals the devastation in Russian-occupied Oleshky Burned-out vehicles along the roads, destroyed buildings, and deserted streets. This is what Oleshky, a Ukrainian town in the Kherson region under Russian occupation since 2022, looks like today. Archive drone footage released by Ukraine’s 34th Separate Marine Brigade "Borysfen" in September reveals the scale of the destruction. A temporary ceasefire is set to begin here on October 29, following an agreement between Ukraine and Russia brokered by Melania Trump. The pause is intended to allow humanitarian aid deliveries and the evacuation of civilians. According to estimates, between 1,700 and 2,000 people remain in the town, most of them elderly.
